Katherine is a partner in the firm’s Raleigh, North Carolina office. She has devoted her litigation practice to the defense of complex cases with significant exposure. As a trial lawyer, Katherine spends a substantial amount of time in the courtroom. She also maintains a statewide defense litigation practice.

Katherine has defended physicians, hospitals and other medical professionals on claims of professional malpractice for 18 years. She has represented local medical providers and entities, as well as large national healthcare companies in cases with significant and catastrophic exposure. Katherine’s professional clients also include mental health providers, physical therapy providers, anesthesia providers and dentists.

A substantial part of Katherine’s litigation practice involves the defense of long term care facilities and their employed providers on claims of negligence and professional malpractice, including cases that involve skin integrity, falls, nutrition, infection, elopement and other claims of malpractice and negligence.

Katherine’s clients also rely on her for strategic planning and advice with respect to risk management issues, policies, compliance, and other issues.
