A founding partner of Huff Powell Bailey, Scott's litigation practice focuses on the defense of healthcare providers and institutions, as well as product and device manufacturers. Scott also handles general liability cases of significant exposure. He has tried cases all over the state of Georgia and in some of the worst venues in the state for the defense.

Scott has been defending medical malpractice and other healthcare related cases since 1996. He was formerly with Alston & Bird in Atlanta where he was a member of several national litigation teams defending clients in mass tort, multidistrict, and class action litigation. Scott has tried over 50 cases as lead counsel, all but two of the cases resulted in defense verdict or directed verdict.

Scott has been repeatedly recognized by his peers as a Georgia SuperLawyer or Rising Star. He is also a charter fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, a trial lawyer honorary society. He was recognized in 2009 as a member of the Lexis-Nexis Bar Registry of Preeminent Lawyers and is a recent invited member of the Professional Liability Defense Foundation. In 2013 he was privileged to be elected as a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. More recently in 2019, Scott was inducted into the prestigious Amercian College of Trial Lawyers. Founded in 1950, the College is composed of the best of the trial bar from the United States and Canada.
