Weymon started his career with the firm of Whelchel, Dunlap & Gignilliat in Gainesville. After practicing there for 22 years, he, along with Jim Brim, formed the Gainesville firm of Forrester & Brim, LLP in 1988, which merged with Huff, Powell & Bailey, LLC in 2018.

Throughout his practice in Gainesville for now over 50 years, Weymon has represented clients in a wide variety of civil cases and has tried countless of these cases in many jurisdictions in Georgia, state and federal. For more than 35 years, he has specialized in the defense of medical malpractice cases.

He has been President of the Gainesville-Northeastern Bar Association and Vice President of the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association. Since 1984, he has been a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.

Before beginning his private practice in Gainesville, Weymon was a law clerk for Judge Griffin Bell who was at that time a Circuit Judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
