Evan Cline is a litigation attorney with a particular expertise in medical malpractice defense. Evan has experience handling every stage of civil litigation, including drafting pleadings and motions; managing written discovery; taking and defending the depositions of parties, experts, and other witnesses; evaluating case strengths, weaknesses and value; preparing for trial and trying cases; and briefing appellate issues. Evan particularly enjoys working with physicians and healthcare professionals to provide information and reassurance about the medical/legal process while also helping them hone their presentation skills and fully prepare for substantive issues that might arise in deposition or at trial.

Trial Experience:

  • Defense verdicts for surgeons of various specialties in numerous cases involving complications related to surgical procedures and operations
  • Defense verdicts for physicians of different specialties in cases involving complications associated with intravascular procedures
  • Defense verdicts for hospitals and medical corporations involving claims of medical malpractice

 Appellate Experience:

  • Drafted numerous appellant and appellee briefs in support of general civil defendants and medical malpractice defendants as well as plaintiffs affected by inverse condemnation

 Discovery/Deposition Experience:

  • Taken hundreds of depositions, including discovery and evidentiary depositions of medical expert witnesses, parties and fact witnesses
  • Defended the depositions of defendant, expert, and treating physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurse anesthetists and registered nurses

 Other Relevant Experience:

  • Successful representation of many physicians in investigations related to patient care conducted by the Georgia Composite Medical Board
  • Representation of various non-party entities and healthcare providers in providing third-party deposition testimony, written discovery responses, and document production
  • Additional experience handling other matters including premises liability, nuisance, condemnation, and inverse condemnation cases
