Congratulations to Scott Bailey and Erica Jansen, who obtained a defense verdict on behalf of a plastic surgeon after a two-week wrongful death trial in the Superior Court of Fulton County. The Plaintiff alleged that the Defendant was negligent in her post-operative management of his 33-year-old wife who developed massive gastric distention three days after an abdominoplasty. The gastric distention was not identified on radiology studies and the patient ultimately developed abdominal compartment syndrome and passed away. The Plaintiff asked for $12,000,000 in damages.
