Brian joined Huff Powell Bailey in 2026 as Counsel in the firm's Atlanta, Georgia office. Prior to that, he worked for another complex litigation defense firm in Atlanta, and a litigation firm in Valdosta, Georgia. His litigation practice is wide-ranging, and encompasses trucking and transportation defense, premises and products liability defense, construction defense and professional and dental defense litigation. Brian has more than 17 years-experience handling and trying cases for the defense. He has had a significant number of cases pending in U.S. District Courts. Brian has an active appellate practice and has briefed more than 25 cases before the Court of Appeals of Georgia and the Supreme Court of Georgia, as well as the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Lead counsel for national manufacturing company in a federal court products liability action involving a catastrophic injury and a request for $15 million in damages; the jury returned a defense verdict

Lead counsel for national motor carrier in a federal court personal injury action involving an allegation of permanent spinal injuries; the jury returned a defense verdict despite admitted liability for the collision

Lead counsel for construction company in a state court personal injury action which resulted in a jury award that was 1/3 of the pre-trial settlement offer and 1/10 of the request for damages at trial; the verdict resulted in the award of attorney’s fees to my client under O.C.G.A. 9-11-68

Lead counsel for UM carrier in a state court personal injury trial involving a plaintiff who was ejected from a motorcycle and suffered numerous acute injuries; the jury returned a defense verdict

Defended large property and casualty insurer in a first-party action in federal court; case settled for a nominal amount after the trial court excluded the plaintiff’s expert witnesses

Successfully defended prosthodontist in dental malpractice action and obtained a pre-trial dismissal of the lawsuit with prejudice

Successfully defended oral surgeon in dental malpractice action and obtained favorable pre-trial settlement of the claim

Successfully defended orthodontist in dental malpractice action and obtained a pre-trial dismissal of the lawsuit with prejudice; the dismissal was affirmed on appeal

Successfully defended national food processor in federal court breach of contract action; obtained favorable settlement for client after the filing of a dispositive motion

Successfully defended regional welding company in a state court action for breach of contract; favorable settlement was reached after the trial court excluded the plaintiff’s expert witness

Obtained summary judgment for insurer in declaratory judgment action regarding the duty to defend an insured in a catastrophic injury case; summary judgment was affirmed on appeal

Obtained favorable pre-trial resolution for a regional medical provider in a wrongful death action alleging deviation from the standard of care
